At the foot of the world-famous Montserrat Abbey, you will find the Mercat d'Olesa.

Currently, it has 33 active points of sale offering food products of all kinds, mainly local products.

A shopping centre for fresh and local produce, the Mercat Municipal d'Olesa is home to numerous stalls selling all kinds of food: meat, fish, artisanal sausages, home-grown fruit and vegetables, salted fish, cooked legumes, poultry and nuts, as well as cooked dishes prepared by catering establishments.

The Mercat Municipal is much more than a commercial space.

It is a meeting point for citizens, a place of social interaction that contributes to the vitality of the municipality; all of this combined with a wide variety of quality services, personalized treatment and ensuring good service.

Involved in the social, festive and cultural events of the town, the Mercat participates in the celebration of popular events such as the Carnival festival by organizing a gastronomic show, the Tastets, where you can taste dishes prepared by the stallholders themselves.

The Mercat Municipal is located in a large building in the Eixample district of Olesano, open to four streets.

The work of architect Jeroni Martorell i Terrats, it was inaugurated on 1 October 1932, and was expanded forty years later (1972) with the construction of the adjoining warehouse for the sale of fish.

With its 1993 remodelling, it has a more modern appearance combined with the history of a building listed in the Inventory of Catalan Architectural Heritage.

Interesting, isn't it? Don't worry, if you don't have time to stop by Olesa before or after seeing the Moreneta, now you can enjoy all of its products without leaving home, thanks to its new Marketplace
