What can we tell you about the Mercat Municipal de Manlleu?

The Mercat Municipal de Manlleu was founded in 1984. After many years of operation, in 2001 it was decided to carry out a complete renovation of the space and a new facility was built.

Later, in 2011, the current Mercat Municipal de Manlleu was inaugurated.

It is a living, dynamic space, a space where original and unique things happen.

The architectural project, designed by the Comas-Pont architectural studio, was a finalist in the WAN (World Architecture News) awards and was exhibited at the Virserum Art Museum in Sweden in 2013.

The building participates in the environment and offers a commercial image, with large spaces and a façade that gives luminosity and transparency to the space.

There are a total of 23 stalls selling fresh produce (fruit, butchers, fishmongers, etc.) and other food products (legumes, salted fish and frozen foods).

The kiosk, flower shop, bakery, bar and restaurant have access from outside, allowing them to open independently of the market.

The Mercat Municipal de Manlleu also has a market hall, a space located on the first floor, where there are gastronomic activities and various workshops.

There is also a space for neighborhood organizations.

The architectural volumes of the building have given shape and colour to the brand symbol, mmm, created by the design studio Ecograma, which acts as an onomatopoeia (evoking taste and the desire to eat).

If you decide to visit them and you have enough time, you can take the opportunity to visit the Teatre Centre Manlleu (Espai Rusiñol), the Church of the Germanes Carmelites de l'Ensenyança, Can Puget, the Fountain of the Mare de Deu, the Passeig del Ter, the Plaça Fra Bernadí or the Museu del Ter.

And if you don't have time to visit Manlleu, don't worry, now you can enjoy all of its products without leaving home, thanks to its new Marketplace
